The history of Pre-Aryan and Aryan eras is mainly based on the epics like Vedas, Puranas, Mahabharata, etc. In Rigveda, reference of Arijikya (Beas) flowing through this area has been made. This region, commonly named as Dev Bhumi is believed to be the abode of gods. According to the Vedas, some non-Aryan tribes inhabited this region before the arrival of Aryans. There is a mention of Trigarta (Kangra) kingdom in Mahabharata.

In Municipal Council Dehra District Kangra a campaign “Swachh Kangra Sunder Kangra was launched in the leadership of District administration during 19th July to 23rd July,16. The whole District administration including all institutions,NGO,Mahila Mandal , Taxi/Truck Operator unions, Schools were involved and all at the own did commendable job. In addition to this all hot spots in the town were got cleaned , ward wise awareness programmes were arranged. Quiz competition were arranged in schools , Gram Sabhas were also arranged the old record and unserviceable material was weeded out and removed as desired. Water tanks were got cleaned followed by administrating the Swachhta Oath and this campaign was conducted with success and fame.
